Reconciliation!

Wow, it has been quite a long time since I've written and quite a few things have happened. I am no longer in high school or living in Illinois. I am now in NYC studying fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology at 19 years of age. It was actually my English teacher this past semester whom inspired me to write again, shout out to Carole! I just signed the lease on my first apartment! And I am currently working on an internship that could be career changing. None of this was easy to say the least and it certainly has been a journey so far and I cannot wait to continue!

So far I have left behind my home of 18 years with all of my friends and people I grew up with to join the crowds of the big apple. And I sure was one of the crowd for awhile, lost and confused and one of the "herd". After trying to make it work with my roommates, which wasn't a match made in heaven, I found comfort in the form of Allysa, Kate and Chrissy. Allysa; a tall surfer chick from the Dirty Jers with that Jersey Shore flare. Kate; my dancing home girl from Connecticut with a sense of humor that turns multiple heads. Last but not least- Chrissy; a blond ball of fire with a hardcore spunk. These three complete me in a totally Sex and the City type way, as cliche as it is, i love it! The four of us have been in more trouble and created enough chaos to write an entire book already so I will fill in as much as needed to get from A to B, then once at B go into as much detail as possible.

This is who you need to know: Xavier- our promoter friend of whom we have no idea his age.
Fahad and Abdullah- members of the Saudi Royal family
Ty and Richie- Xavier's partners
Roman-another promoter and Allysa's love interest
and a slew of others Ill mention as the stories go on...
As for now, I am enjoying my Christmas Eve watching USA with my brother and mom.
Ahhh the holidays..Ciao!

Let The Games Begin...

So school just started, and I have to be honest with all of you, my internet roaming has been limited. Its only the third day of school and I've been asked to write a speech, two letters, and have received all the information about my senior year research paper which by the way is due early October. So to say the least, I'm swamped!

Other than that, things are ok. I'm ready to get out of this hell hole I call home, and start a new life with new people. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be half the person I am now if it weren't for the experiences I've encountered, I'm just ready to get over all the heartache and sorrow.

ANYWHOOOO my mother had a present for me when I woke up this morning, Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim was placed promptly next to my breakfast as I was rushing out the door this morning. I drowned myself in it as much as I could in 3 minutes, and have been waiting to return to it all day.

That's all for now, Ciaoo!

Leather Leggings and Beauty Tips!

Well this seasons new fashions are in: Plaid, "Hippie", School Boy, Slacks, Purple/Orange, and Leather Leggings! Im not so hot on the plaid, and I can deal with the hippie but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Purple/Orange and Leather Leggings! Although, leather leggings seem to cost a lot, I found a look alike pair from Express. They aren't leather but hey! we are in an economy crisis here! And only $50 with a buy on get 50% off the next. Good deal, huh?

I thought I would give you all a review on the recent beauty products that I acquired, so here I go!

This Good-bye Cellulite Gel has actually worked! I've always been athletic and active but as you get older, things like cellulite are just hard to avoid. I started using this cream about 3 1/2 weeks ago, and there is already a VISIBLE difference. I also upped my workout, so those two things were probably working hand in hand to rid my 17 year old thighs of cellulite but its worked wonders! I recommend this product to all women with this same problem. If you would like to read more go to http://www.nivea.com/products/show/424 . I also suggest looking at some of Nivea's other products, which I will soon be testing out and documenting the progress, so more to come!

I went into Sephora looking for something that would stay all day without having to use brushes and leaving my face still fresh. Because its summer, I didnt want a heavy blush and I dont wear much make up anyways. Laura Geller's Tint Hint was the PERFECT solution to all my worries. It's light, easy to apply, and fast. I've worn it all summer and recieved more compliments then I can count on it.

Photobucket
Another successful summer buy! The thick brush and plastic brissels are a perfect team! They volumize and lengthen your lashes at the same time, without clumping or weighing down your lashes. Anyone looking for a cheap comparrison to their $50 mascara, this is for you! Anyone just looking for mascara, this is for you too!

Well that is all I've got for you now, but more to come. School starts soon! Blah, I'm not looking foward to it. I'm going to buy Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris and will soon have a book review up. Ciaoooo!

The Windy City!

Well this weekend I went back to school shopping in Chicago, Illinois, my favorite city of the USA. It was awesome!! I made a lot of good purchases for my back to school wordrobe. Although, my one intended buy (ed hardy boots) they didnt have in chicago!

SHOES! The cream pair are bakers and the red/gray ones are from Charlotte Rousse

PURSE! From H & M, not quite Balenciaga but its great!

Photobucket

High Waisted Skirt and Purple Ruffle Top! Both From Charlotte Rousse.

Photobucket

Argyle Sweater, Yellow Tee, and Gray Leggings! This complete outfit is from Forever21

Photobucket

Classy Dress from Forever21 once again. (It has a full skirt, I just couldn't fit it all in the frame.)

I'm still getting those boots! Apparently, the West County Westfield has them in stock, I will be heading there, IMMEDIATLEY!

Soo, while I was in Chicago, Bernie Mac passed in a nearby hospital.

R.I.P. Bernie MAc 1957-2008

When Heath died, my girlfriends and I had a memorial night, and watched all of our favorite films with Heath in them. Here are a list of GREAT films where Bernie blessed the screen in:

1. All of the "Ocean" Movies

2. Mr. 3000

3. Bad Santa

4. Transformers

5. Guess Who

6. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

7. Pride

8. And many TV shows, including the self-titled "The Bernie Mac Show"

On a lighter note, I did happen to catch Pineapple Express on opening night. One Word: FUCKYEAHITSAWESOME! Haha. Seth Rogen plays his role as a pot-smoking-averege-joe with ease. James Franco, quite out of his ordinary pretty boy character, is his co-star and I must say, he is very convincing as the drug-dealer-who-thinks-he's-your-best-friend guy. Together, these two go through a series of events after witnessing a murder that make you laugh and cringe at the same time. By the end of the movie, I felt like I had just done a 2 hour ab workout. It's a must see!

Well, school starts next Tuesday. So tomorrow and Tuesday, I have off, and will clean in preperation for school. I'm not nearly excited for school to start, being it's my senior year, than I thought I would be. I would really love for summber to be another month longer! I have found a few people that I share classes with, though, I've been going to school so long, I don't really care anymore, I can make friends with anyone. Well, going to get a jump start on cleaning! Ciaoo!

What are your back to school finds/list?

I just read the news about Christina Applegate having breast cancer. I was dumbfounded. It really can hit anyone. The Sweetest Thing is one of my favorite movies. I have yet to see an episode of "Samantha Who," but I hear good things. Thank god the doctors caught it early, and expect a full recovery.

So did anyone else hear about the new dinosaur thing they found. I'm so excited! I love dinos. You can read more about it on aol.com

So back to my college search. I submitted my first application to the state of new york. Then I guess FIT will send me specifics for their school. I'm really nervous already. This is my future we are talking about here! I've been talking to all kinds of people to get as mush advice as possible. I live in a small town, so New York will be a HUUUGEEE change! I'm ready for it though, and where ever it takes me.

I worked at bakers today. I'm exhausted. I worked a 13 hour day on Friday. IT WAS HORRIBLE! Thursday I go to Chicago for the weekend for some back to school shopping. Hopefully, I will pick up some of the things on my list.

Well thats all for now, Ciao!

Lets Get Drunk!

Surprising news from DKNY! This year they are teaming up with Chandon to create their own wine! Which will be available at all of their parties and under every guests' chair at New York Fahsion Week. I hope they don't offer it as a gift to their models...as catwalks are slighty narrow. Wouldn't want one to just topple over the side.

Cell Phones are apparently becoming a weapon of mass destruction all over the country. With car crashes, pedestrian mishaps and even horse accidents ( a 15 year old girl fell off her horse while texting!), more and more texting related accidents are popping up every day. Be careful where you text!

Okay, I would like to address this to all Obama haters. STOP HATIN'. Seriously, just cause he's young and black does NOT mean he will do a bad job as president. Frankly, I think it's time for a change in this country. We are supposed to be the melting pot of the world, and we pride ourselves on that but yet, we have all this hoo ha about possibly having a black president. To make matters worse, news channels such as Fox, are using their powerful biased opinion to further rumors circulating about Obama. HE IS NOT MUSLIM! And seriously, even if he was, THIS IS AMERICA PEOPLE! When Kennedy became our first Catholic president, it was a huge deal, but we got through it okay (well besides the fact that he got assassinated but really the Kennedys just have bad luck). He has been Illinois State Senator (my home state) for years and been doing a mighty fine job, but as soon as he moves up in the world, all of a sudden he's a terrorist? Seriously, does that make any sense?! Get your heads out of your asses and think! Now, I'm not saying that you have to love him, but don't dislike him under false pretenses. You should dislike him (if at all) for his political views, not because he's black, or "muslim" or whatever. I've said my peace.
Photobucket
look at that face, how can you not love it.

That's all for now, Ciao!

Well, Here it goes.

Lots of new stuff buzzing around in the fashion world! I'll have to say, I'm pretty excited about the new Olsen book coming out. Partnered with Penguin they are producing a book for Young Readers about the influences (the good ones!) in their lives.

From a wire by Penguin

"The book will include "exclusive photographs of Ashley and Mary-Kate from world renowned photographer Rankin, and a wide variety of other never-before-seen materials and interviews from Mary-Kate and Ashley's personal collections.""Mary-Kate and I have filled `Influence' with the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation," Ashley Olsen said in a statement."Ashley and I interviewed the people who have inspired us, with the hope that they will inspire and teach others," Mary-Kate Olsen said in a statement."

I will be looking foward to reading it. I just got it on presale.

Also, DVF just got admitted to the Fashion Walk of Fame! I love her style, she deffinantly deserves it. She's obviously timeless since shes lasted so long!

On the personal side, applications for FIT for 2009 school year are posted the 1st. I'm going to get in there and apply right away, since from most of my research I have found that it takes awhile to get papers back!

ADVICE TO ANYONE LOOKING TO APPLY:

Apply Early

Spend a lot of time on the essay, have teachers and mentors read it

Be creative and find something that will make you stand out

-all advice from current students.

oh and dont worry cause you arent alone. Plenty of us are just as clueless.

I also put in an application for TeenVogue's Fashion U. 2008. It's a great opportunity, I suggest that everyone apply. They have the pros of the Fashion World for a huge seminar plus concert to help girls with their fashion careers. I really hope I get in!

Well I have work early tomorrow, 9:45 at Bakers Footwear Group and then at 3 for abercrombie. Off to bed! Ciao
