Lets Get Drunk!

Surprising news from DKNY! This year they are teaming up with Chandon to create their own wine! Which will be available at all of their parties and under every guests' chair at New York Fahsion Week. I hope they don't offer it as a gift to their models...as catwalks are slighty narrow. Wouldn't want one to just topple over the side.

Cell Phones are apparently becoming a weapon of mass destruction all over the country. With car crashes, pedestrian mishaps and even horse accidents ( a 15 year old girl fell off her horse while texting!), more and more texting related accidents are popping up every day. Be careful where you text!

Okay, I would like to address this to all Obama haters. STOP HATIN'. Seriously, just cause he's young and black does NOT mean he will do a bad job as president. Frankly, I think it's time for a change in this country. We are supposed to be the melting pot of the world, and we pride ourselves on that but yet, we have all this hoo ha about possibly having a black president. To make matters worse, news channels such as Fox, are using their powerful biased opinion to further rumors circulating about Obama. HE IS NOT MUSLIM! And seriously, even if he was, THIS IS AMERICA PEOPLE! When Kennedy became our first Catholic president, it was a huge deal, but we got through it okay (well besides the fact that he got assassinated but really the Kennedys just have bad luck). He has been Illinois State Senator (my home state) for years and been doing a mighty fine job, but as soon as he moves up in the world, all of a sudden he's a terrorist? Seriously, does that make any sense?! Get your heads out of your asses and think! Now, I'm not saying that you have to love him, but don't dislike him under false pretenses. You should dislike him (if at all) for his political views, not because he's black, or "muslim" or whatever. I've said my peace.

look at that face, how can you not love it.

That's all for now, Ciao!

Well, Here it goes.

Lots of new stuff buzzing around in the fashion world! I'll have to say, I'm pretty excited about the new Olsen book coming out. Partnered with Penguin they are producing a book for Young Readers about the influences (the good ones!) in their lives.

From a wire by Penguin

"The book will include "exclusive photographs of Ashley and Mary-Kate from world renowned photographer Rankin, and a wide variety of other never-before-seen materials and interviews from Mary-Kate and Ashley's personal collections.""Mary-Kate and I have filled `Influence' with the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation," Ashley Olsen said in a statement."Ashley and I interviewed the people who have inspired us, with the hope that they will inspire and teach others," Mary-Kate Olsen said in a statement."

Also, DVF just got admitted to the Fashion Walk of Fame! I love her style, she deffinantly deserves it. She's obviously timeless since shes lasted so long!

On the personal side, applications for FIT for 2009 school year are posted the 1st. I'm going to get in there and apply right away, since from most of my research I have found that it takes awhile to get papers back!

ADVICE TO ANYONE LOOKING TO APPLY:

Apply Early

Spend a lot of time on the essay, have teachers and mentors read it

Be creative and find something that will make you stand out

-all advice from current students.

oh and dont worry cause you arent alone. Plenty of us are just as clueless.

I also put in an application for TeenVogue's Fashion U. 2008. It's a great opportunity, I suggest that everyone apply. They have the pros of the Fashion World for a huge seminar plus concert to help girls with their fashion careers. I really hope I get in!

Well I have work early tomorrow, 9:45 at Bakers Footwear Group and then at 3 for abercrombie. Off to bed! Ciao

For Starters

Well, this is my first blog. It's refreshing knowing that I can blab all my feelings and maybe someone will be inspired or feel less alone. Latley, I've been really stressed about college/my future. It's kind of intimidating. I recently turned in a college scholarship application to the CFDA. That's what I want to do with my life, fashion. Anything and everything to do with it. I suppose stylist would be my dream job, I would love to put all the looks together for fashion shoots. Recently I started working for Bakers Footwear Group and Abercrombie( how generic I know, but you have to start somewhere!). I also intern for a local designer, Natasha Kimling Kwan. She is a handbag designer thats ECO FRIENDLY! ( check out her website www.klingbags.com) I love it. I'm learning the ins and outs of the business any way I can, and trying to work my way up.

It's pouring down rain and I hate thunderstorms, as do my dogs.
